Staff Selection Commission, Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs exam · 7th CPC pay level 6 · DA 60% from January 2026
The CPO exam recruits Sub-Inspectors for Delhi Police and the central armed police forces, and Sub-Inspectors (Fire) for the CISF. All of them are at level 6. Delhi Police classifies its Sub-Inspector post as Group C, while the CAPF posts are Group B non-gazetted.

How Delhi Police SI salary grows
Basic pay goes up by one cell (about 3%) every year. If there is no promotion, the MACP scheme moves you to the next pay level after 10, 20 and 30 years of service. Promotions usually come sooner and pay more. The table uses today's DA of 60%; DA will keep rising and the 8th Pay Commission will revise every figure.

Allowances and deductions
- Dearness Allowance: 60% of basic pay, revised every January and July.
- House Rent Allowance: 30%, 20% or 10% of basic pay by city class. It is not paid if you live in government accommodation, and a small licence fee is deducted instead.
- Transport Allowance, with DA on it.
- Other benefits that are not part of monthly pay: Children Education Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, medical care and paid leave.
- Deductions: 10% of basic + DA for NPS (or UPS, if you opt for it), CGEGIS, income tax, and in some states professional tax. CGHS (₹250 to ₹1,000 a month) applies only in CGHS cities and is not deducted here.
