Formulas
Adding GST: GST = price × rate ÷ 100; total = price + GST.
Removing GST from a price that includes it: price before GST = total × 100 ÷ (100 + rate); GST = total − price before GST.

What are the GST rates now?
Since 22 September 2025 the main rates are 5% (essentials) and 18% (standard), with 40% on luxury and sin goods. Gold and silver are at 3%, rough diamonds at 0.25%, and many essentials are exempt.
How do I remove 18% GST from a price?
Divide the price by 1.18 to get the amount before GST. The difference is the GST.
