Delhi Police, recruited through the Staff Selection Commission · 7th CPC pay level 3 · DA 60% from January 2026
Delhi Police Constables, both Executive and Driver, are recruited by the Staff Selection Commission and start at level 3 as Group C posts. The Driver post is open to men only. Delhi is an X class city, so HRA is paid at the highest rate of 30% unless you live in police quarters or barracks.

How Delhi Police Constable salary grows
Basic pay goes up by one cell (about 3%) every year. If there is no promotion, the MACP scheme moves you to the next pay level after 10, 20 and 30 years of service. Allowances and deductions
- Dearness Allowance: 60% of basic pay, revised every January and July.
- House Rent Allowance: 30%, 20% or 10% of basic pay by city class. It is not paid if you live in government accommodation, and a small licence fee is deducted instead.
- Transport Allowance, with DA on it.
- Other benefits that are not part of monthly pay: Children Education Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, medical care and paid leave.
- Deductions: 10% of basic + DA for NPS (or UPS, if you opt for it), CGEGIS, income tax, and in some states professional tax. CGHS (₹250 to ₹1,000 a month) applies only in CGHS cities and is not deducted here.
