IB ACIO and Security Assistant salary 2026
Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs · 7th CPC pay levels 3 to 7 · DA 60% from January 2026
Intelligence Bureau staff get a Special Security Allowance of 20% of basic pay on top of the usual allowances, which makes IB posts pay more than other posts at the same level. IB notices also offer cash compensation for duty on holidays, up to 30 days a year.

How IB ACIO salary grows
Basic pay goes up by one cell (about 3%) every year. If there is no promotion, the MACP scheme moves you to the next pay level after 10, 20 and 30 years of service. Promotions usually come sooner and pay more. The table uses today's DA of 60%; DA will keep rising and the 8th Pay Commission will revise every figure.

Allowances and deductions
- Dearness Allowance: 60% of basic pay, revised every January and July.
- House Rent Allowance: 30%, 20% or 10% of basic pay by city class. It is not paid if you live in government accommodation, and a small licence fee is deducted instead.
- Transport Allowance, with DA on it.
- Special Security Allowance: 20% of basic pay, included in the figures on this page.
- Other benefits that are not part of monthly pay: Children Education Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, medical care and paid leave.
- Deductions: 10% of basic + DA for NPS (or UPS, if you opt for it), CGEGIS, income tax, and in some states professional tax. CGHS (₹250 to ₹1,000 a month) applies only in CGHS cities and is not deducted here.
